I have ahd a few friends email me but my new C$ & say "Great unit but not as deep as my CZ" etc etc .....>>>
Im an old CZ hunter and know that unit very well...but I also wanna love the C$ I just got.......initial air/test garden tests were just ok using different settings 525, 710, etc. or do I have to push it to 10 sens 0+ thresh?....hopefully actual in field hunting tests tommorow will improve dramaticly...but I see Im gonna have to boost this baby quite a bit to hopefully get close to CZ like peformance, soil is good here.......am I wrong? am I doing something I shouldnt be doing? Im reading everything I can posted about this unit also .....can more experiencd users please share your honest thoughts, and ....
make me love the C$ <img src="/metal/html/confused.gif" border=0 width=15 height=22 alt=":?"> <img src="/metal/html/biggrin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":D"> <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)"> <img src="/metal/html/frown.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":("> <img src="/metal/html/shocked.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":shock"> </span>

it may take 40-50 hours to really "get-it". CZ people have a real hard time making the transition. Listen to the e-mail I sent you & you'll be fine, & if your gonna just be hunting in fields you should be able to crank it up without much worry about modern trash. Just be sure to scan a signal from all angles, or you'll dig some iron that may 'fool' ya at first. Good luck, Bill

Bill....... I hear ya ....and thanx so much for all the help and great information......hey if we all don't discuss these units here on the forums we'll never know all about them.....which all funnels down to everyone having better results in the field...

threshold, you will equal CZ depth & won't have to sensativity much higher then 5 to do it either. I have both & my C$ is every bit as deep as my CZ70 & CZ5.
HH,
Mike

mike .......can please elaborate on these finding and comparisons if you can ....it sounds very interesting!

you can run threshold closer to the positive side. They say that if you can stand to hear a threshold hum, then run in the plus or positive side to get the best depth possible, but for me, I don't like the hum and depending on your soil type the machine will become quite unstable.
I try to run mine at around sensativity 5, threshold @ -15 and will hit quarters at 10" + deep. The CZ70 I run sensativity 4 and hit the same quarters with a steady tone at 10" +. But if I try running 6 or higher the CZ70 will start falsing.
With the C$ I have hunted with it at sensativity as high as 8 with threshold at 15, with fairly good stability.
Good luck,
Mike

I guess I will have to see what I can do to run the C$ stable in MY AREA here...with my CZ's I always could run them at 10 sens in open fields with no falsing....but Im not thinking CZ anymore Im thinking C$ now <img src="/metal/html/wink.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=";)"> theres not much more I can say at this time until tommorow when I get to try it in an actual hunt senario in the field.....
more to come <img src="/metal/html/glasses.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":geek:"> <IMG SRC="/metal/html/fisher.jpg" BORDER=0 width=60 height=13 ALT="f~">

it's not like the slow motion sweep of the CZ your use to.
If you were sweeping the C$ at a slow sweep as one would the CZ, that could account for some differences in depth between the two.
Mr. Bill

My C$ will ID deeper targets than my CZ70 but I have to run the sens high. The soil in my area of Ky has low mineralization allowing me to run sens at 8, 9 or even 10 sometimes. I use my C$ in older areas when I'm hunting for deeper targets and when there is more iron trash. Other than that I like my 70 for newer areas and at the beach, though the C$ is no slouch there I'm just used to my 70.
