Everything in the universe has an opposite, + and -, N and S, matter and anti-matter, but there are some laws which up till now have seemed immune from this principle. It is well known that if you have a long length of cable, the more it is used the more tangled it will get, until you end up with a gigantic knot that takes hours to unravel. This can be seen on a small scale in the length of cord on a telephone receiver where eventually you have to hold the phone base in the air and let the handset spin in a self unwinding mode. To observe that there is a natural anti cable tangling law takes may months of careful observation, but I am now convinced that it does exist.
When we moved into our new premises at the end of December, the only telephone point was in the front office. This is fine because I spend a fair proportion of each day there and my secretary deals with a lot of the calls anyway. In my main workshop I have a computer on which I do much of my design work, but it is also handy to access the Internet without returning to the office. The quick way of doing this was to get a phone extension lead which, in its original form, must have been about 50ft long. This I unwind, maybe twice a day, out of the office and down the corridor, then into my workshop and across the floor. That
