I recovered this button from dry sand at a near-by beach today.

I have no idea if it is historically significant, or just a common decorative button.

It looks gilded to me; I am stumped by the lettering surrounding the eagle: "APRESENT (?FOR) CHARLES

The back reads" TREBLE ORANGE"

The eagle has a shield in front of it.

Can't find this button anywhere on the many internet sites that I have clicked on.

It is small...maybe cuff button

Any info on this button would be deeply appreciated.

Here's a few pics

Thank you for taking a look at it.
