I tried to figure out when it came out too.
I searched the forums etc.
best I could tell it was around the first of the year 2003.
anyone remember?

So what one came out first the Explorer II or the XS

The Explorer S didn't have the Iron Mask feature and Noise Cancel along with the inability to Learn,Edit, and Save Patterns. The XS has all these features. The S had Noise Cancel but you had to do it Manually unlike the XS Model where you could choose Manually or Auto Noise Cancel. Good Luck and HH.
