Also this badge looking thing. On the back it reads, " The Henderson James Co. Kalamazoo, Mich USA. Any idea as to what it is or a date? Looks like white enamel around the eagle. Kinda cool. Thanks, Jim

Jim,

Frank Henderson sold and / or made swords, regalia and military goods
1850 to 1871: Henderson operated under his name Frank Henderson in Kalamazoo MI
1871: Henderson partnered with Theron F Giddings as Henderson & Giddings Co.
1873: Changed back to Frank Henderson
1873 to 1893: Henderson published catalogs selling fraternal goods and began selling as an agent for the Ames Sword Co.
1893: Consolidated his regalia company with Chicago based branch of Ames Sword Co. forming Henderson Ames Co.
1894: Henderson bought Detroit regalia factory of E. A. Armstrong, including sword plant, stock, tools, machinery, furniture and fixtures.
1899: Henderson died but firm continued
1923: Henderson Ames Co. purchased by M. C. Lilley Co and dissolved.

"Pluribus Unum" Medal Maltese Cross in white enamel should measure approx. 2" in diameter - originally had a colored ribbon on it - back should be marked "The Henderson Ames Co Kalamazoo, Mich".
