:canadaflag:Out with the new Garrett and in with the old bouy

From the land of the Bluenose.....gave myself one halibut of Christmas present as my ad on a forum was answered. The Ace 250 which is still in the box and never used was sent to Burlington Ontario and in it's place I now have another new member of the Garrett "old bouys club." Harder all the time to find these Freedom 3 Pluses which to me is the best machine they ever made. Want to see my happy dance?

I would love to have the Freedom II, with the dual discrimination. I would set the #1 at foil, and the #2 at where tabs just start to break up. Then, when I found a target, I would switch to #2 and: if the target went silent, I would know it's in the nickel range; if it broke up-the tab range; and if it stayed, the coin range. I have looked for one everywhere.

Recently I could pick up a very nice freedom ace plus. I like it very much but is it really THAT good? I am still unfamiliar with it. I used it with the small eliptical coil. It was good but my CX did hit harder on coins. Can the freedom ace plus play with the higher level machines?

Leslie, me too I like older machines and I like to see that you have good results with them.

HH, Eric.

My neighbor in Fl. had a 1985 Garrett detector. I don't know anything about older Garretts. He said his dad bought it and never used it. After he had it 20 years his dad gave it to him. He said his dad paid about $500 for it. He said it will stay in the box. He won't ever use it. That's the truth. This guy wouldn't even mow his grass.
