Car charging...

My truck has a factory USB port...,could I use that to charge the batteries of the DEUS,instead of buying the dedicated car charger...?

i'm assuming it should. but i would check it out to be sure. so far i have used the round port in the car to charge the Deus because there is one in the back of my SUV. let us know what you find out.

For gee wiz, you can buy the cigarette lighter adapter with USB port at several places---- with the correct current rating.

How about a converter?

I know squirrel1... if it wasn't necessary I would rather put the money toward some other accessory... that's all...
thanks for the replies....

Your truck usb will probably work. I'd probably plug my portable gps unit in first just to see what happens. If after that all systems go you would be alright. But I would not make a habit of using it unless absolutely necessary.

owner's manual for both will tell what the vehicle provides/what deus needs in miliamps

one could just look at their deus wall charger for current supplied, for that matter

Yes it should charge and certainly won't be damaged. The Deus charges fine in my GMC Sierra...
