Just a short history of this spot, ( Nathan taber came hear in 1879 and made his homstead, his old house was built in the Rum river lowland and often flooded, so the house was torn down in 1955 and the farm yard was cleaned up with a dozer or somthing and they dumped the remains of the burnt house up on this hill it covers a very wide earea, in this dibre feild i have found an 1862 Indian head cent , looked like it was run over by a wagon wheel , and a nice 1879 seated dime , I am now into a hord of cast Iron parts, wich is good as cast Iron comands a good price, I may be aproching 400 pounds now I slo detect around the old foundation that this came from and have found 5 Idian head cents but no silver but way out in the feild over 400 ft away from the house i found three silver quarters 1905,1926,1948 but I think in scooping up the yard they scooped up coins to so I may find some coins again, , the layer is on average 18 to 20 " deep but in this spot its going past 3 feet deep and is darker colored dirt from the normal light sandy color tabor said himself that the foundation i hunt was build in 1926, that makes sens as i found a filled foundation next to it that is full of old salt glazed crocks and old tools and pots and pans and plates knifes forks and hundreds of nails and burnt foundation stones so it is this same mix i am finding up on the hill , some they buried by the old house and some they transported way accross the feild to this hill

Ironman,

What type of excavation have you done on the filled in foundation where you mention old salt glazed crocks and old tools and pots and pans and plates knifes forks ?
Maybe you need to dedicate more time on this filled in foundation.

it is now part of the farm feild and it goes deep i would need a back hoe and a crew we just covered it up , and only dug a 5x5 hole everything was burnt so we figured no hole bottles but it does have coins found a few indian heads in thear ,
