Cemetery finds

Hello, went out yesterday for 3 hours and found these relics on a small dirt road leading upward toward an old site, along side a cemetery. The moon crescent is a pin, the others are hinges, buttons and I think something that looks from a fountain tip pen. Correct me if I'm wrong! All these relics were found under on old 100 year old pine tree.

Interesting stuff but I'm kinda clueless as to what a couple things are. I'm not the best at identifing stuff. What's your average high temperature for this time of year?

Mirage

Hi Mirage the average temp for this time of the year is VERY COLD!!! About +5 or 6 down to below -1. But we don't get as cold as over where you are, I don't think. And we don't get much snow, as we're about 150mt too low from the top of the hills here.

Angela, it doesn't snow here either, only on a rare occasion. It did rain last week, first decent rain for along time and we've had a heavy frost every morning since. I went down to one of the local schools this afternoon for a couple of hours looking for some pre decimals but no luck. Did get about $10 from the pine bark around the kids play area. Had to leave a few as below the first couple of inches the pine bark was all frozen together and like concrete.

Hi Pete, some of the butons I've collected have Australian company names on them: Buckley & Nunn: Messiter & Fergeson, Sydney: Ince Bros, Melbourne: O.A. Jaco, South melbourne, to name a few. One has Victoria Police force, found at an old police camp that existed only for a few short years in my town, so it's a rare find. Another button is from the tunic of a freemason. I also find a lot of old glass buttons while digging for other things. The two buttons in the pic have Messiter & Fergeson, Sydney, the other has 'double ring' on it.:)

Angela, I wondered if any were UK companys, they look similar to ours;I've never found any glass buttons yet. The most common style of button I find inland are solid "military style" ones made of pewter they are slightly more common than work wear buttons. On the beach I go where an old pier once stood and mostly find thin "brass?" suspender buttons, cheers Pete

Sometimes in the winter months it goes down to 10F or 15F degrees below zero.
