HI, this is my first post to this forum. I have detected on and off for about 15 years. About a month ago,after reading reviews,and this forum I bought an ACE 250. I have been having fun/success finding clad coins in local parks.( here in Salt Lake City UT).
Sunday I was at work and a friend gave me 3 hand tied flies, to try next time I went flyfishing
(another of my hobbies). I had carefully put the flies in a shirt pocket, later that evening I was walking the dog past a school,she stopped to do her duty, and when I bent over to clean up after her, the flies dropped out of my pocket on to the grass. It was getting too dark to see where they fell, and I carefully bbrushed the lawn with my hand, and could not find them. This evening I went back to the school with My ACE 250. I scanned a similar streamer fly with My 250 in the all metal mode, and it registerd in the first 2 iron notches, so I set the first three noches to accept, and eliminated al the rest. I also set the sensitivety down, since the flies were not buried. I did not have much time as it was 7:30 and was geting dark fast. It took me about 20 minutes, but I finally found the first fly just before I was about to give up, I then located the other two nearby. It was almost as good as finding silver coin!. I do not think I would have found them with a different brand of detector!. I used to have a Tesoro deleon,and I like the ACE 250 better!. The Ace 250 is the best detector there is at around 200.00$.
