A coin book is useful to give you all the different coins minted - date ranges, metal content, weight, etc.

That's a very good idea Doug on the spread sheet. I did a similar one on the computer of aussie currency, past and present and found it very helpful. The coins I hope to find one day is the elusive gold half and full sovereign. Now that would be nice!
