Yea I saw that. How would you like to find that? Heck we hit an old silver and have done well, Beale.

Awesome! Wow, wow, and wow! About 52,500 coins in one hit and in one hole. Looks like all sliver coins, don't know if there are any gold ones.

Huge Roman coins find for hobbyist - One of the largest finds ever made of Roman coins in Britain has been made by a man using his metal detector.

The complete story of the excavation will be told in a TV new BBC Two archaeology series, Digging for Britain, presented by Dr. Alice Roberts and made by 360production, to be broadcast in August, 2010.

Awesome find, recently with a metal detector in England.

Dave Crisp using a metal detector, he located the coins in April in a field in south-western England. Crisp said a 'funny signal' from his metal detector had prompted him to start digging. 52,500 coins in a jar weighing about 160 kilograms (350 pounds) and about a foot (12 inches or 30 centimeters) deep. Valued at about 3.3 million pounds ($5 million US dollars).
