I was invited to hunt a residential property which is situated on an old Union Civil War Camp. After meeting me at a different property, the couple had decided to buy a metal detector for their young grandson for Christmas. So we spent a little time teaching him some basics on his new bounty hunter. My second target of the day was the horseshoe badge. A Google picture search suggested it might be a Civil War cavalry adornment and showed some similar items but nothing exactly the same. Can anybody make a positive identification on this?
The “lipstick” container is actually a rhinestoned cigarette lighter (circa 1940s to 1950s) made to look like a lipstick tube. It says “Weston A precision craft product guaranteed by the name”.
