Civil War Navy Button

Found 2 inches down next to a tree in Indiana. Can see Kentucky from the site. A block from the Ohio river. Any help with identification would be appreciated
 
Wow, that`s a nice one, haven`t seen one of those ones yet.
not sure if it is on there or not, but this site has a good selection of civil war era buttons
may get a hit on ID in there .

There is a civilian button that looks a lot like yours but the button you found has the rope and star decoration around the edge plus alot better detail. Military buttons seem to always show greater detail as in your button.

I found this one last year, turned out to be only from 1950s..the back of mine was missing making exact era a little harder to pin down...[attachment 293553 php8JbumKPM.jpg]
