Mine should end soon. Between work & rain & trashy parks it's been a good while for me, so I'm due...I do have that hot little Excelerator coil comeing from kellyco :) so I'm expecting to be able to pluck some GOOD ones frome amongst the trash...One other reason I'm thinking for my little dry spell is that I've been digging most all signals that could be a gold ring or coin, so I've been digging a LOT of trash...Congrats at ending your dry spell:clapping:

Yeah, Tomtowns, I've been using the 5" & 8" Excel coils & found the Injun with the 8" coil. Love those Excel coils.

the same slump until yesterday :beers: I found a 52 rosie. The first silver all month long. Hopefully our "dry spell" is over  Happy Hunting Grounds,

Savage (EX-II)

It's always nice to make finds of Silver and also a nice older Indian Head Cent. Very Nice Digs and I hope you find more where you retrieved these from. Good Luck and HH.

You know what, TT? Digging all that trash in the hopes of finding a gold coin is a big waste of time. UNTIL you find a gold coin, that is! And the people that find them are the people that do what you do.

That may well be why I haven't found one in 7 years of detecting. I often wonder if I've ever gone over one. And I WILL dig a signal like that if the depth and the tone are right and if it has the right consistency, but I DO pass up a lot of signals I believe to be aluminum trash and I'm sure that many may not have been.

Of course on the beach I dig it ALL, except the bottlecaps and sometimes the pennies. But on land, I pass up quite a bit and mostly rely on the tones, the numbers, and my gut instinct. All of which are good, but truth be told...you would find a gold coin or ring while land hunting long before I would.

It's all about how much diggin' you wanna to do!
