Hello - just a bit of a spin off the thread - I gather you were in the USMC. I was also (an Air Winger) VMFP-3 Photo Recon, 3rd MAW. I posted my info on the together we served MC site about 2 years ago just for grins. I forgot all about it. Then, around 2 months ago - low and behold, an e-mail popped up from my old Sgt. We are both old men now or at least I feel like one - he lives in California close to our old El-Toro stomping ground. Wow - El Toro is gone now. He stayed in and retired from the Corp (Something I now wish I had done). Anyway - I thought you might find the story of interest if you are an old Devil Dog. BTW - he doesn't metal detect. Too bad for him. I now have my two kids interested in the hobby *If that's a good description of it. To me - it has turned into an obsession. I love it! Well - they are both young girls - so have other things on their minds right now. Once they settle down a bit - I am sure they will remember their old man scanning the ground for old coins and what-not. I understand you have a medical problem. My thoughts and prayers are with you Sir. Take care.
