Class ring from 1940,

Need Help. I found an old high school class ring a couple of weeks ago and it's pretty worn. It says 1940 on the side of the ring and is so worn that it maybe hard to find out what shcool it might be from. On the inside of the band the inscribed initials are AOA and then the letters HJ which I believe are the manufacturer initials and then two words which are Ultra Superion. Anybody know what those words might stand for? It would be kind of neat to find the owner of this ring. I would say they are probably around 82 or 83 years old now. Thanks for any help. HH.

Doubt that person is still alive. Odds are against it any way.
I'm not saying don't try, I'm just being realistic.

I agree that the owner of that class ring probably isn't still with us, but I'll try and find the owner or family member if I can. I found a class ring last year and was able to get it back to the gal who lost it. She is planning on wearing it to her 35th class reunion this year. Nothing better then having a happy ending to a story like that. HH.

My guess would be the HJ stands for Herff Jones. They have been making class rings for a LONG time.......
 
I found a 1971 class ring in December.I went to the local archives and looked up class of 71 I found her within 10 minutes,and I mailed it to her.She lost it 32 years ago. The story made front page of the lifestyles section in The Sunday Daily Herald, Maury county Tennessee paper.Yours will be a bit more challenging without the school name. Good Luck.
 
Thanks Keith......... I called Herff Jones and I guess they have been making class rings for about 85 years. One of the gals I talked with is going to try and find out what the words Ultra Superion stands for. I doubt I'll have much luck trying to figure out who once owned this ring, but I'll keep trying. HH.
