Cleaning the Explorer XS

Does anyone have any good cleaning methods for removing dirt and stains from the light colored coil? Suggestions/Methods. Thanks!
 
I found it works well with some elbow grease. It's a huge pain in the ass really. What was Minelab thinking making a white/off white metal detector!? Don't they know we use these things in the dirt!?
 
My thoughts exactly...At least with the EXII it is black....unfortunately that is not the one I have. What may I ask is Vim? I have never heard of it.
