Has this or something similar ever happened to you? Awhile back, we were hunting an old town park. The Explorer gave a hit, I pinpointed and cut a plug with my Lesche knife. Took some dirt out of the 6" hole & no signal in the hole-checked the removed dirt and saw the white silver disc. A beautiful 1916 Mercury dime, this ole boys heart got to beating faster and I couldn't get that dime turned over fast enough. But alas, a 1916-S instead of the 1916-D king. That Mercury was easily an EF-40 grade. According to "Coin World 2008 Guide To U.S. Coins"---the '16-S in EF-40 is valued at $27 and the '16-D in EF-40 is valued at $6,500. What a difference a day makes and what a difference a mint mark makes! Well, theres a '16-D Merc out there with my name on it and theres one out there with your name on it. We just haven't quite located it yet, that's all. I think it's going to happen for us on this next hunt. Take care you guys, Del
