(eagle) it was made from 1902 and later. Used in WWI, WWII, and after.

Thanks Travis and to think I didn't remember even half of what has been found detecting! Just went and hunted and kept a record on them and then put them away! I think looking them up if possible is getting me more interested in metal buttons! My mom was and I am a button collector.....have lots of different ones....old ones, some not so old and newer ones! Large, med, small and tiny in size and made in various kinds of materials!! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

Thanks Mike! I looked the Scofield and Waterbury buttons up on the Net and there are several of the same kind on Ebay for sale! Found it is a World War II Infantry uniform button! Mom had Uncle John's Army Uniforms from World War II with all the buttons but were sold in a farm auction in 1972! Sure wish I had them and all those bright shiny golden buttons now!  May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

I was suprised to learn that I like digging buttons. Those military buttons look nice.

Thanks Jeff......I think when we dig things up from the past that we get more interested in history and what went on in the long, long ago days! I was 10 years old right after World War II ended and I remember, VJ Day very well! Lots of shouting and happiness even though we only had a radio and no TV! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty
