Coil Change....Tone Change??

Tico

Member
On my Cutlass II Umax when I use the Troy 7" coil vs the stock 8" brown donut. It seems like the Cutlass has better tonal quality with the 7" coil.
Example, Hunting an old homesite with the 7" coil, I could tell when I was over a rusty washer or small rusty iron object much better it seems that I can with the stock coil. Is this just me or have any of you noticed a tonal change with diff. coils on your Umax detectors.

Haven't really compared to notice. However, I can state that the Tesoro 7" concentric really sounds off on dimes when using my Conquistador for club planted hunts.
