Coil Charger Clip

Has anyone heard that the ."Coil Charger Clip pins are FRAGILE & it is easy to break one or both, thus rendering the detector useless."

I've got no issue with mine...anybody having a problem??:surprised:

I had a customer step on one and break it, ooopppssssss!!! No fault of the clip though.
 
No problems with mine.
 
The clip is probably the weak link in the chain. I would love to see one that secures to the coil so I could charge while driving without worrying. That said, just treat it like the electronics, with care. It looks pretty sturdy, my concern is losing it somewhere.
 
This is the reply I received from XP France about the "problem".

That could happen because when coil is fully discharged, the LED need 10
seconds to turn on when you plug the clamp, and sometime customers damage
the two metallic pins of the clamp because they don
 
I've lost a pin from the charging clip. Just noticed it was missing one day. I'm not sure if it broke when the clip was put on or taken off the coil. They ARE fragile and you just need to be careful with them. A tiny piece of copper wire fixed the problem.
 
There's a little copper hole left where the pin popped out. I just stuck a small piece of wire in there so that there is a little bit of a nub sticking out; just enough to make contact with the coil. Works fine.
