Coil weights

D&P-OR

Well-known member
Does anyone know what the actual weight (in ounces) is on the 11" coil with coil cover?------I weighed my 9" coil (with coil cover) on my accurate postal scales & it weighed 12 oz.----Was just wondering what the actual difference in weight is on those two coils.

11" coil and cover weighs 16.2 ozs.,,,,,,,457 grams
Now the $64 question is ,,,,does it weigh more when the battery is fully charged vs almost empty?

Thanks sprchng---you came through again!-----The answer to your $64 question is: (drum roll)----depends on whether you looked at it after your second cup of mornings coffee---or---at the end of a hard days hunt!;)------Seriously though--although both of those coils are light----4.2 oz more out there on the end of the stick of the Deus could/would throw the great balance off some that it has with the 9".-----Looked to me like there was very little depth advantage to the 11" in the tests I've seen---which would leave the main thing gained with the 11" being a (little) bit more ground coverage.----At the expense of (some) separation ability??
