Coil Wiring

Copil question, I would like to know if there is a way to wire a plug for a 2200SD on a 8 inch DD coil made for a soverine, with out going in to the coil its self. From just the control box end with the plug. They have different types of ends. Is it posinle? Grubstake

You can wire it any way you want...... but it will never work. The SD is a PI and the Sovereign is not. I'm pretty certain they would not be compatable no matter what. The DD windings are entirely differently in the sovereign coil as well and would not work on any PI. You need a DD coil specifically made for your SD for it to work properly.

Well the reason I asked, is I know some one that just bought a Coiltek Platapus coil for there Soverine, and that coil was made for the Minelab PIs like the 2200 and so on. But they ordered it from coiltek, so maybe they wired it for him. Thanks Grubstake

There is a PI version, a Sovereign version, a Explorer version. They may be more.
Just because it says Platapus on the coil, that doesn't mean it will work on your detector. You need to contact the Mfg. or Doc the US distributor.
