coil with 4 pin connector

racoon

New member
I bought myself 2 new coils with 4 pin connector which should fit on the Tejon but now they have a female connector instead of the male version like the original coil.
Does anyone know on which detector these coils, with the female connector, fit?

Are they made by Tesoro?
BB

Yes they are both original Tesoro. One is a 10" elliptical widescan the other a 15" elliptical concentric.

4 pin coils work will on all the older umax models (diablo, silver, golden, etc). http://www.tesoro.com/product/coils/

All my older umax coils from the 4" right up through the 10.4 and widescan are 5 pin male connections. I've been under the impression that the newer Vaq, Tejon, &LST are all 4 pin connections.

Bill you are correct, Sorry guys. Its seems what I think and type are two different things these day.

The Tejon etc. have a 4 pin connector that's right but they have a male connector and the coils I have have a 4 pin connector but it's female???? I'll post pictures tonight.

Yep thats a Male connector and it will work with any Tesoro with 4 prongs. Pictures are always worth a 1000 words.... :cam:

After contact with our dealer in the Netherlands I changed the connectors from female to male so they would fit my Tejon but then I got troubles with my discrimination, I have to put it on 5p if I want to eliminate small iron, and the ground balance can't be adjusted.
I mailed Tesoro with this problem and this is their answer:

Thank you for your e-mail. Unfortunately we recommend you never do that because you will have exactly the same problems that you are having now. The change from the female to male is something that we do not do even here at the factory.

Sincerely,

Could it be that the European Tejon has other connectors than American or British?
