I had a 50 and did really well with the stock coil. I then purchased the 6inch dd coil and was amazed at what that little coil picked up that I had missed. I do not think there is a best coil , they are all good for certain situations. I just ordered a 9 inch 3khz coil for my 70. If you have high mineralized ground {low ground balance numbers} then the dd coils are better I hear. For trash the small coils are better. But the stock coil is a good all around coil. I have never beach hunted though . Hope this helps.
