coil

Checked the newly wired coil on GT, compared it to the other cracked wire coil same size. I have gained an extra inch of air test with my newly wired coil. Now I didn't compare coils before rewiring so could be that this coil is a little more sensitive anyway. There is a difference in the wire used as far as gauge and also the wire I am using is a shielded wire which is not going to hurt anything, if anything it will aid somewhat. Wanted to make sure that everything tested good before any possible permanent concealment. Right now pretty much tap and die, or will be so everything screws together. This way I could disassemble at a later date and re-modified or just go ahead and epoxy all in. Forgot the dust shield on connector, have to go back and take connector off again - just another delay. Hard enough doing this with shaky hands. Getting old has its drawbacks.

Your last sentence is so true!!! I tell all my nephews, "take care of your bodies while you are young"

I like that cable you are using, where can a person get some of the cable from and how many wires are in it.

Thanks
Rick

That has happened to me a couple of times, very easy to do especially when you're on the clock and need to finish with the connector.LOL and then you notice the shrink tape is on the table instead of around the cord to slide into place.Nice job on the cable fix.

Im with you Rick.... id like to know more about supplies used and a step by step on how you did that. Ive got a standard coil with cable cracks id love to cut and rewire for the Sov. I dont see any splices/swrink tube so did you go into the coil..... or is the connector hiding the splice? Where did you get the wire/connectors ect?
