Just wondering if anyone has an opinion on which coil in general will provide the best detection depth for silver. I am using the standard double d coil but am intrigued by the larger butterfly coils as well as the 13" double d coil. I have a site that has very little trash and lots of deep silver coins, which I believe I have hunted out using the standard coil. But I have to believe there are some deeper silver coins that I haven't been able to reach. I've played around with the sensitivity, moving from auto to as high as 18 and had some luck in getting deeper coins, but am now ready to try some other coils if people think that will make a difference.

I would start looking at Bryce's field test for the diffeent BBS coils, you can find them here http://www.findmall.com/read.php?19,1055627. You also might want to read this post also, the 13 inch Ultimate coil vs the standard pro coil, you can find that here http://www.findmall.com/read.php?19,1692757,1692757#msg-1692757. I have been on the fence about getting an 13 inch ultimant coil. The standard coil has found me a lot of coins, but if I buy another coil it will most likely be the Ultimant just because if can handle iron really good. Most of the sites I hunt has a lot of iron in them.
