which is better in parks, sport fields and beachs, for finding coins and jewellery, yes i have read randy's site.the medium frequency concentric or the hf dd coil.i'm currently using the hf dd coil.i have never found any gold jewellery with it,maybe there wasn't any to find but it does get me to wondering am i using the right coil or frequency.i know that americans seem to favour the small 3khz coil to search for lost silver but here in australia nobody i know goes looking for predecimal currency with it,i could be wrong.our predecimal currency had silver in it and one still finds the odd one here and there, but nothing to rave about unless it's a holey dollar,he,he,he!emubob

Which HF DD coil are you using ? I have found for me, the 6 inch round HF DD worked best. Very sensitive to small, lower conductive targets.

It certainly seems that very few people use the 3kHz digger here in Aus. I just purchased one (for a very good price might I add) but it's a 2 week turn-around as it comes via Coiltek in Adelaide. Anyway, i tried nearly every MD store in my state and none of them stocked the coil because, in their own words, "it was their least popular coil".

I already have the 6 inch 18 kHz and I believe it is just as capable. I got the digger because I'm hoping??? it will give me a more accurate idea on targets with a higher TID number. For example, I dig a lot of lead roofing nails up here as they often TID very close to small copper and silver.

Cheers
