Well I`m obviously going to have to get a new digital camera if I`m going to take pics of these finds. I`m open to suggestions.
Thanks, Randy

I will be using a Canon Powershot A490. About a hundred bucks, but I can have move pictures onto my computer in about 15 seconds. Very user-friendly.

Hey McDave have you already took pics of coins with that camera?

Our new PC does'nt have any photos from last year, but I took a few just now for an example.

Outstanding !

In the menu section you can set the camera up for whatever type of picture you are after. I had it set for "close-up" shots, which on my camera is a flower-shaped icon. And actually it is my wife's camera, so I'm thinking that I should get one for myself because if I break this one she's gonna kill me :starwars:

I was thinking I should find a camera with the same features but a little more rugged for outdoor use.

Hi Randy, just make sure that the camera has a Macro Mode (Daves flower icon) allowing you to take great close up shots.

Good Luck with whatever camera you choose.

Les.

This pic was taken useing a USB Microscope it is a beaten up George 111 silver shilling , but the datte 1816 can be clearly seen.
