Wow, nice finds!! I bet that standing liberty was a nice surprise when you got it cleaned off. I started trying to make a coin ring out of a modern clad quarter, man that's a lot of work, and I'm still not sure exactly how I would go about putting a hole through it to make it functional.
 
Interesting finds ! I found a silver Washington quarter the exact same way this summer. I didn't realize what it was til I posted it here and someone ID'd it.
The US pin is a WWI period army collar disk. It was worn on the front of the "stand up" type collars of the army tunic. On the opposite side of the front would have been
a similar disk with the service type. Crossed rifles for infantry, crossed cannons for artillary, etc.
