Dear Friends,
I'm new to treasure hunting but I find it exciting and I love being outside. I recently purchased a Fisher Coin Strike and have been fortunate to find pennies, dimes and a couple of quarters. Could anybody give me advice of what has been effective for them any programming their settings? Currently I'm using the manufacturing settings. I would appreciate any help.
I also purchased the Automax Precision V2 Pinpointer from KellyCo for $35.00. Has anybody else used this brand? And how effective has it been for you?
I would appreciate any advice or suggestions anybody can give me on these products that I purchased and general information on treasure hunting?
Thank you and God Bless
Paul

You will find a wealth of information there, some posted by Mike Hillis, he made charts and graphs that were helpful also

Bill is indeed a bright young man and will shorten your learning period. Certainly doesn't have the depth of a CZ but works to perfection in trashy areas. Also like the VDI numbers...on my wish list is a CZ with VDI numbers and lets hope Fisher is listening..

then notch in zinc & nickel, set sensativity at 5 & threshold at -25 or even as high as -40 if its unstable on you. Ground tracking off & averaging off. these two things you can experiment with once you start becoming comfortable with the C$. Once you feel comfortable with these settings then you can start lowering you threshold closer to the + side and raise your sensativity to get maximum depth.
Also make sure you ground balance in all metal & in a clean piece of ground which can be hard to find without any metal.
Good luck,
Mike

Paul,I got an automax V2 in a package deal from Kellyco last year.It is a mix of good and bad.On the minus side it is bulky and not as sensitive as I would like.Positive features include a long probe for deeper holes,a belt clip, and the fact that you have three kinds of signal:sound, vibration and light.I intend to get another pinpointer with more sensitivity but have not decided which one.It is good enough to convince me of the value of pinpointers. I think it will serve you well enough to start particularly since it is inexpensive and reliable if a bit insenitive.
