For 6 weeks ago I was in southern part of Sweden working and crashed at my brothers place. He is like me a dedicated detectorist and searching night time is great. No one disturb you.
That beach have been giving hundreds of silvercoins ,and 30-50 coins during a 2-4 hour hunt is not unusual.

This time my brother was hunting with the Xterra 705 with 5x10,and I had his Etrac. He got a great signal and started digging. One silver crown came up.We filled the hole, but forgot to control check for more finds. And there it was, another 3 silver and a nickel 50

Cool video. Nice findS
If those coins are collectable you should consider NOT rubbing them as it takes away from the value.

And I just have to ask- grass on the beach? Looks like good.dark rich soil.

Youre absolutely right! Rubbing is forbidden:) Well there is some value in this coins. If I find a older coin/relic,I never rubb it...

Yes,grassy beach it is..haha..

What part of Sweden are you from? My wife is from Gothenburg but lives in the US with me now. I would like to ty detecting in Sweden next time we visit. Is it legal for someone from the US to detect there?

Hi Eric!

I live 2 hours west of Stockholm,in Sormland, one of the most beautiful countys in Sweden me think.
Nice to hear you wanna do some detecting in Sweden.Only problem is getting the permission.Im not sure if you can do that as a American citizen, but really couldnt see any problem in that.
It depends in which county you want to detect. In the southern part of Sweden its usually no problem getting permission. But in my county they are more of a no sayer..very negative to metal detecting.

Therefor I visit my brother in southern part of Sweden, were I have permission on massive beaches and parks for a year.

You have to send in a application to the county administrative board. Have to include when you want to detect and where and why.You are restricted only to beaches and parks.
It take everything from 2 weeks-6 months depending on county to get permission. If you get one at all.

Well if you have more answer I will gladely answer them.
Sweden is great to detect since very few have been out there and a lot of people even dont know anythiong about it.Thats why there is so much great finds to be made.

Cheers
Mike

I will have to look into the permit for when we visit next year. It would be very nice to get a chance to detect while on vacation there. Maybe it would help if my wife who is a Swedish citizen puts the permit in her name. Thanks for the infomation and good luck with your hunting!

Freshwater beach ,coast and parks. No fields yet to this day! But laws are about to change. We will have an answer in the end of this month if they not pros pone it again.
