Coinstar finds today....

After a long dry spell of checking the Coinstars, I finally scored today finding a 1964 dime and a '44 wheat penny.
Silver is silver in my book, even if it comes out of a machine! LOL

At 50.00 per ounce that equals out to 5.00 melt down value.

Nice Felix mines been pretty dry lately at Walmart I always used to pull silver out of it

So sweet when you hit it at Coinstar. WTG !!!

So glad they reject silver and wheats. I use to have 4 Coinstars on my way home. Unfortunately
2 Supermarkets went out of business. I use to check several times a week and did fairly well, Now the only place I have to check is Walmart.
I think the 'greeters; check often as I rarely find any coins, let alone something good. The other day a bunch of coins got jammed in the inlet feed.
I could see they were pennies but hoping for a wheetie....NOT....

Ive had good hauls on a few occasions, One time the basket, shelf and container were full of wet coins !!! I think someone robbed a fountain !!!
It jammed up the machine, I waited to see if anyone came back to retrieve their coins.... NOPE I had pockets full of wet coins. Dont recall amount
but easily over $10.

Another time as I walked up to the machine, there was a sign, 'Out of Order' !!! Again, basket and return loaded with coins !!!!

Timing is everything. I found around lunch time is good at Walmart.

PS... The Story Channel had a piece on Coinstar machines and how they work.. Very Interesting !!!

I agree Donna. I think people working at various stores check them. I have witnessed this once myself….i was seconds too late…
