Coinstrike ???

Hopefully some other guys will jump in as I'm just the "head minion" on the Coin$trike I think it's just like all Fisher's are known for pretty much: good depthwise, & alotta relic hunters use it on all metal just for relic hunting & do quite well (I'll attach John's C$ web page below). If it had no depth we'd all be using something else & there'd be no forum. I think you just really have to be patient & LEARN the machine. It's gonna be quite different than the other units ya mentioned, but it should be a great Coinshooter for ya. It's called the "Coinstrike" for good reason....it LOVES round targets. This upsets a few people on screwcaps, but hitting a deep silver dime in trash balances it all out Hope that helped a little. Anymore questions fire away & I hope ya make that trade....HH, Bill

I agree with Ladd...I've owned several 'top of the line' machines Lately, including the Exp II and the MXT. Even at your monthly club hunts my finds had always been average until the C$..now I'm at the head of the pack. The C$ is the Best coin machine I've ever used here in my areas trash laden soil. Yet, it's been my experience that the C$ is not as good for some jewerly and small gold objects (ear rings) as the others I'd mentioned above. I do not relic hunt and so can't comment on it's abilities or inability in this area of detection. Good luck on your decision.

easily hits a 10" dime in my area. Its good on relics as well as beach huntin. I just got back from strikin over in Daytona Beach and it handles salt water ever bit as good as my CZ70. I had it a foot deep in the water and it handled it with no problem.
But Like Bill said, the learning curve on the C$ is a good 50 or so hours before you start really becoming familiar with it, but once you do, you wont go back.
HH,
Mike

HAVEING JUST BOUGHT A COINSTRIKE AT X-MAS I`VE BEEN FOLLOWING THIS FORUM FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS NOW. THE INFORMATION WILL BE A GREAT HEAD START IF THE WEATHER EVER BREAKS!
MY QUESTION IS, SHOULD I CONCENTRATE ON THE NUMBERS OR THE SOUND TO SPEED UP THE LEARNING CURVE? MY OLD 1220X WAS ALL BY TONE. BUT THAT WAS 10 OR 11 YEARS BACK. ANY THOUGHTS OR ADVICE WILL BE GREATLEY APPRECIEATED!

the C$ is no different when it comes to this aspect. But you will use the numbers as a guideline to support the tone. I don't go strictly by the display, especially if its hip mounted while hunting at the beach, I go by the tones and dig everything that gives a beep. I dig a lot of trash, but I also find a few good finds as well that have been walked over by other detectorist.
But the visual display on the C$ is very accurate most of the time.

Mike

Hi,
likely the 1270 and CS go about the same depth. The difference is the CS IDs at that depth so you would dig a higher ratio of good signals.
I have the earliest X5 unmodified and the CS. They make the perfect pair. The X5 I use around RF, it works there because of the high frequency. I've had this X5 beat my CS in black topsoil around power lines. The CS beats the X5 in clay and when not around electrical RF.
enjoy
