I have been planning this trip to Colorado for almost a year. I researched the hell out of it and sure enough, I found the site of three old logging communities. The problem is, when they demolished the towns, they burnt it all down and then bulldozed the rest. Everything I found was either melted into a ball of hard goo, or smashed to peices. My buddy was lucky enough to find a 1879-1890 pottery whiskey jug in one peice with a cork still inside... I found a mule shoe and the items in the pictures... winchester shotgun peice, square nails (everywhere) a weird gear peice, and a medallion from an old hand saw that dates to 1870-1880. All in all, it was a fun time!
Cool relics....We have hundreds of logging camp sites up here. But, unless it's on private land it requires being sneaky. And I'd rather not take that chance. You will find better things there if you keep looking.
