Combined Pattern

What kind of discrimination pattern are you using in the Combined setup? I use minimal discrimination in the TTF setup on my E-Trac. Do you do the same in the Combined mode for field and heavy iron sites using a CTX?

If you are coin hunting, you might try using the stock Coin program, then change the Audio Profile to Combined audio. If you like TTF on your ETRAC, you'll love combined. You can move the FE line to whatever level you want. If you like it at 17 (as with your ETRAC), leave it there. But many of us drop it down to around 20 - 21. Then set your CO bins to match the types of targets you want to have different tones. The beauty of the CTX is that you can build a Pattern with whatever discrimination you want..... then by pressing the detect pad, it switches to a second Pattern, using all the settings you had for Pattern one. But, you can set it up with a whole different set of discrimination. Many of us use very little discrimination in Pattern two. PLUS, you can build a whole new Detect mode, using different settings and different discrimination completely. And you can build a second Pattern with it as well. Then, all you have to do to switch from one "hunt mode" to another is press the User Programmable pad. And all you have to do to frog back and forth between discrimination Patterns in either hunt mode is press the detect pad. It is like having access to four different programs, by simply pressing a button. HH Randy
