compadre&amigo2

Hi 79, as best I understand, they are the same machine in all directions except the Housing.. I couldn't find my A II manual (not even sure I have one) and my Compadre manual doesn't say, Tesoro Manual online (manual)sight doesn't say either. I would suggest you do some more forum searching because it is /has been discussed a few times already.Monte or JB will know and probably step up. If you have the A II or can get one, you will love it. I use my A II (7") more often than I use my Compadre (5.75). Both will dig finds behind every machine I have and that is good to know when things slow down and ain't nuttin happnen.HH Charlie

I put a post on another web site about a little hunt I had a few evenings ago with my daughters Amigo II, 43 coins in 45 minutes. Followed another hunter using an ID unit that leaves the zinc cents in the ground. As I removed the zinc numerous other coins were recovered. Very nice little machine!

my Amigo II is my baby! more fun with it than any machine I own. I understand it basically is the same machine with ED-180 like the Compadre. Cherry picker of trash pits! the factory coil is plenty small enough for me, and believe me, i hunt garbage pile MACON, GA!

other machines are ED-90 and a few ED-120 which from what i have been told that it accepts metals farther down in the disc range. I think thats putting it right. i find baby earring BACKS with it. thats small! my favorite fresh water beach quick hunter. i have the speed handle straight shaft with the arm cuff. easy all day machine and battery friendly too.

thats my thoughts HH Carey
