Compadre & Cibola

Like both detectors but I think I am confusing my self. I take the Compadre one night and then I take the Cibola the next. Thinking I need to learn one at a time, which one would you think I should start with?

I would just get the Cibola since most people end up buying up anyway. No need to own both in my opinion.

I have the cibola and while i like it ok if i was going to buy new again i would go with the vaq.because of the maneral ground balance, but if i come across a compadre at a decent price i would buy it in a split second for a back up or to loan to friends that wanted to go with me.

i spent the 80 more dollars and got the vaquero. with the manual ground balance, even though i do not need to adjust it much, still requires it from time to time at different sites. you might as well have it than not. very easy to do also.

The only difference would be a few more pops or clicks around iron with the Cibola-and more depth in moderate ground.

I locate where a nail, foil cap and beaver tail pull tab break up on the discrimination face plate. I then put a tick mark at each location using a ultra fine point Sharpie.

By doing this I don't have to remember where to set each detector's discrimination when I grab one.

I also put tick marks for the threshold and ground balance for reference points. I have too many detectors to remember where each setting should be.

By setting up the Compadre and Cibola this way you shouldn't have too much trouble learning and using each one.
