Comparison of F2, 4 and 5

Hi guys,
First real post here - I'm a member of Kimbucktoo forum in OZ, and someone mentioned the great information available for Fisher users over here (particularly a chap called Mike.).

Anyway - I've had my Fisher F2 for about three months, and have about $160 already (which includes reward money for finding a nice 18ct ruby ring). I intend to save this money and upgrade (give the F2 to my wife).

My question is - what's better about the F4 than the F2.. and likewise.. the F5 and the F4? Is there a FAQ or something that someone has written in plain english for someone like me who's still learning the ropes?

Thanks very much - appreciate all of the interesting posts on here..

I own the F2 and F4 and there basically the same detector with a few exceptions. The F4 has more options available as far as notching and ground balance, the controls are different as far as how they function. For instance on the F2 when you push the pin point button and release it, it returns to search mode, the F4 will stay in pin point mode until you return it to search mode. They air test the same, 6.5" on a clad dime and 7.5" on a clad quarter. In the field though the F4 definitely has greater depth due to the fact it can be ground balanced.
Hope that helps
