Considering a Nokta/Makro Simplex +

Is it a chatty machine around power lines, emi? Thanks for any info.

I was using my Simplex around power lines yesterday, and it you could tell there was a little noise from them. It wasn’t impeding the function by any means. It wasn’t enough to bother shifting the frequency to help get rid of it.

I have very, very few issues with my Simplex + around any of the urban locations I hunt where power lines are present. I hunt at maximum Sensitivity unless it is necessary to reduce it, and I have all three Disc. modes wide-open with '0' Disc. segments rejected. Still, the Simplex + handles most urban hunting quite well. When I have had a little EMI if TOO close to transformers, etc., I reduce the Sensitivity a step and that usually cleans it up. If chatter is from ferrous debris, I use the Field or Park mode and reject the first 2 Disc. segments and that usually eliminates that annoyance. Been out a few more times with it this past week of good weather and it's a pleasure to use .... except I need smaller-size coils for it.
