Contact Info for Minelab Repair/Service Center Required

Well the time has come to send my Excal in for an overhaul after several years of faultless service. The coil has been acting up for the last few months and the house painter knocked my Excal down, then stepped on the headphones breaking them in half. I'd planned on upgrading the stock blue headphones to grey ghost underwater headphones anyways so not a biggy. The main control pod could probably use a good service as well. The coil I've been thinking about changing to the Excal 2 slimmer coil. I also need a new battery pod for a back up.
I tried e-mailing Minelab a few weeks ago to find out if I send it to Ireland or Las Vegas but no response.
Anybody have a good contact at Minelab and an e-mail address?

Thanks in Advance,

BDA:cool:

Hey BDA,

I would just call the Main number listed on their website.. Choose ext 22 Talk to Dick...

I called this Morning at 8:00am Vegas time and spoke to Dick..

I just sent mine in last week for some repairs... I've been told that they were back logged. But I didn't ask when I called.. I just wanted to
make sure that they received my machine..

Good Luck... I know Shipping is an Issue out your way.. Loong time inbetween..

Before you send it in you might want to ask Minelab when you talk with them if or when they might be coming out with a Sov/Excal version of the new 11" Coil that they are suing on the Explorer SE Pro and the E-Trac as it would be an awesome coil on the Excal for water hunting. It's lighter by about 4oz than the 10" and much thinner and glides through the water very easily and is built like a tank. It's a great coil design...the best I have ever seen from Minelab. So it might be worth the wait sending it in if they are going to come out with and BBS version. JMHO

I would like to see them come out with the SEF series of coils. They have them for the E-TRAC,Explorer series,GT, & Quattro. I would buy a 15x12 in a heartbeat for the Excal.

I have 2 Excals in for service right now. They should be on the bench this week. I was told by Dick in September that they were bout a month behind. Dick is a great guy. He is always on top of stuff. Great service by Minelab always. Its been about a month since I sent them in too. Best water detectors as far as I
have ever used. Tried all the others, flat out no comparison. Minelab also gives great customer service.

So it's going to take them 2 months to fix your MD's? They might have great service in every other field of MD commerce but it certainly is not in getting them repaired in a reasonable time frame. If we're talking months that is totally unacceptable to me. What if someone who repairs your computer or car says,"No problem you'll have it a month or two"

I sent a coil in TWO months ago to have the connector replaced and have not got it back yet.

Need to send my excal. in but at that rate I'm not to sure I will live long enough to ever use it again

I like Minelab detectors but this service issue is getting to be a bit much!

I remember not to long ago reading a thread where someone said they got rid of some technicians. That would explain the molasses-like response in repairing their equipment. We know it's not their quality because that is pretty good so why does it take so long. I mean all you need is a connector! How long does that take to fix? 5-10 minutes! I have noticed this for years now that help in stores or the grocery lines is severely lacking. In trying to cut costs they employ less people but we the consumer have to wait much longer to get service. I used to get irritated when the moment I stepped into a store and instantly someone would be in my face,"May I help you?" I wish those days were back again.
