Here is my logic. When I mentioned an event (my birth) and which afected the world, I knew some knew my birthday but some didn't. Rentasquid didn't know my birthdate. Having been in the military I not only was personally overseas (Vietnam, Turkey, England, Germany) I had an effect on many people - both good and bad. Even in the USA as a radio operator I was where seconds from nuclear holocost would have effected everyone in the world.
That was the first part of the contest. When I came up with the 2nd prize it was because I knew there had to be other things that happened on that day and year. Figured I would learn about what happened back then and even others would be made aware of events they never knew about.
Some events surprised me. What surprised me even more is Mike from MI who went above and beyond with so much data that was great and so Mike from MI wins the Double Eagle replica.
Cadman made me realize that even though there was a lot of happiness at my birth the world then didn't know what would transpire for decades to come - and now with nuclear capabilities in North Korea's hands the world may not realize the potential of disaster. Reminds me of the years of President Kennedy and the Cuban missile crisis.
Henry I have 3 proof quarters (think they even have certificates to go with them to prove they are proofs) - they are in plastic containers and the coins have not been touched.
