Control Box Backup?

Has anyone ever asked Minelab if they would sell just a control box, so that you could use it as a backup? Seems it would be a lot easier than carrying a whole extra detector if you had a spare control box and one of your other coils with you.

That is a thought but I wonder what they would charge for it?

Now that is an interesting thought. It wouldn't have to be new, maybe a reconditioned one.

I am sure the control box is the major portion of the detector cost, I'd guess at least 70%
