i have no information about the age or anything about this button. i found it at a park and it was down around 6 inches. i live in bc canada and i know the gold miners where here in the 1800s and maybe it could of been lost then. The frost when it comes out of the ground seems to move stuff around and it could of came closer to the surface but i am not sure. any information would help and thanks. have a great day.

Cool find...i believe it's u.s. army great seal... not sure of age...i found one simular 2 weeks ago... congrats..

Congrats on a cool looking button!

Cool find. It is a reproduction button of a Civil warUnion soldiers Geneeal Service button. Thisone was probably off a re-enactors uniform.

Civil War re-enactors up in Canada? I guess it's possible. No back mark on the button does make it look like a reproduction. Nice find either way for sure.

that is what I thought. never heard of anyone around northern Canada doing that kinda stuff. thanks everyone for taken a look.

that is ok, yes it is a very strange place to be finding a button like this. the only way i could think i may of got there is the gold prosperctors or maybe someones collection years ago. thanks for the response
