Cordless Headphones

Boony

New member
Hi Guys,

I just received a pair of cordless headphones from Spann Solutions in Canada. Spann Solutions lists them as specifically for metal detectors and they work fine on all my audio equipment but they will not work on the SE, I can hear the sound very faintly but thats all.
Has anyone tried these headphones and if so do they work on any of the Explorer series?
Please help.

All the best

Boony

All of my detectors work fine on my Black Widows, but on the Explorers I have to use the compatibility switch or the sound just like you described.

All headphones are not compatible with all detectors. I would go to radio shack as perhaps they can help you out...No electronics guy but the wiring does differ a tad on some..I remember one fellow couldn't use the Whites Koss headphones on his Minelab Sov. and a simple 2 dollar attachment( either mono to stereo or stereo to mono plug in) allowed them to work fine..Perhaps an learned Electronics user can be of help..

Thanks Guys for the response, as I can hear the signals faintly with the Spann Solution headphones I get the impression that the audio output of the SE is not enough to drive the transmitter, I contacted Minelab and spoke to one of the Techs but unfortunately he didn't have an answer to the problem, I have tried a set of Buletooth wireless headphones but found the delay between the transmitted signal and the received signal too long but the sound was OK.
The Spann Solutions wireless headphones appear to need an amplifier between them and the detector and that will just mean more weight.
Unfortunately we don't have Radio Shack in Australia anymore Tandy Electronics (which used to stock Radio Shack )has been taken over by Dick Smith electronics which is Woolworths.
Thanks again......Boony

Hi Guys,

Thanks again for your help.

Jerry the stereo to mono adapter did the trick, they are working perfectly, no more headphone cords what a wonderful thing.

All the best.....Boony
