i bought a cortes anyone have any good videos on their cortes they can post on youtube specific to ground balancing most everything on youtube is in a different language thanks

If you go down about 19 posts you will see "Vaquero on youtube" by Craig, I think the Cortes and Vaquero ground balance about the same, would'nt hurt to look.

only functional in the All Metal mode. The motion Discriminate mode relies on a factory preset internal GB trimmer. If you live in an area of higher iron mineralization, you might want to check out a Cortes before you buy it. The two I owned, and every Cortes and DeLeon I have owned or used, has had a too-negative GB for our bad soil (NW Oregon) and falsed like the dickens! Worse if I opted for a larger coil, such as the CleanSweep or larger 10X12 because it sees more ground.

To perform GB is easy:

Hold the search coil abut 8" off the ground.

Set it in the All Metal mode, with a higher Sensitivity setting, and adjust the Threshold tuner for a slight audio hum.

Lower the coil towards the ground. The goal is to have the Threshold audio remain the same from about 6"-8" high down to about

thank you hombre and monte both the video and explanation.. the video was better just because its easier when you see it being done

Yeah........I watched the video, it seemed to me that he adjusted the ground balance a little too positive, but what do I know.
