could the Vaquero find a small cache?

I see some "once in a lifetime" stories of people finding caches of silver and some people make it seem like you need a certain detector in order for that to happen. I know you need like two box detectors for deep ones, but for the shallow caches that people hide near trees or in cellar holes, could the vaquero find them? I just don't know if because there would be so many targets in one spot if it wouldnt detect them or if it would just scream out. Curious to know

Depends on the size of the target, what it's made of and the depth. It should pick up a fruit jar full of coins or similar at fair depth though not as deep as two box units. Not sure if you mean trash by the so many targets statement or have an image in your mind of a cache of coins or jewery spread through the soil?

I guess I meant if they were in a jar or something cuz I know some detectors might not even go off if the target is too oversized

I was going to post a picture,but.. Regardless a bag with 90 cents, or a 21 pound box of gold ,silver, coins and trinkets, had better register or I would set a new record for the metal detector throw...Don't ever question a Vaquero and its ability to find....However, your ability to understand what it is screaming at you, could be called into question......

It doesn't matter what it weighs with metal detectors. They only find the biggest piece of metal! Not the entire cache.

Most any detector can find a cashe. Depends on depth, size, type of material & mineset of the MDers operator.

To many people (because there lazy) want a detector that tells them when to dig & want to cherry pick good targets only. They will not dig targets that overwhelm the detector because they pigen hole the target as trash.

Their loss........

The PROs that truely understand their machine (& get the most out of them - about 5% of the MDerst) & regularly find good targets, consistently. DIG ALOT OF TRASH !

How many times has that target been detected & ignored by a majority of MDerest............????
