couple of questions about Deus.

I have been contemplating getting a deus for awhile now. It's performance seems very good but I really like the weight and it's portability.

I'm just wondering if some one could show a pic of it all broken down. I like to take my bicycle into some areas that are to far to walk.
I understand that the coil is where the transmitter and brains are so can you still use it in shallow water?

With the coil being hightek like that can you still by a second coil ? And how much would a second coil cost?

I also wonder how it would do on gold chains . I can't find any videos on that subject but I hear it can do well.

Also where does the sound come from if not using the headphones?

Does the control unit have a lighted background?

Yes you can submerg it all except the remote (Control Box and headphones, but you need an "antenna" for the coil to comm, which is 15 bucks on ebay and works good from what I read.....

Second coil can be bought cost depends on size and dealers, I got my 11" with lower rod new/used for 400 bucks, think the list for 450. With second coild you can actually make a second complete detector, there are posts on that subject.....

Here is a pic, the thing is amazing and light:

I realize it's only an air test here and there's an infinite amount of variables for in-ground targets, but the Deus hits low conductors exceptionally well if you use the right settings. With the ability to change operating frequency, processor speed, notching, tone control, etc - you will have one flexible yet powerful machine at your disposal to hunt whatever it is you're after!!! Be patient with the learning curve - initially you will dig a lot of good-sounding targets that will be iron, but once you get familiar with the audio responses, your iron haul will go down. I've been using the Deus most days at least 2 hours per day, weather permitting, and still dig some bottlecaps; yet the amount of good finds pulled from trashy areas continue to increase!

The control box has an external speaker if you so desire - unlike the CZ-6 which was headphones or nuthin' LOL!

Also, the screen has the option to be backlit at all times or you can set the delay at several different intervals. The screen is lit by an LED I believe which uses next to no energy...you won't notice a difference in battery life with the screen backlit at all times vs unlit - I love this feature since I hunt at night most of the time (only free time I get while the kids are asleep!)

Another cool thing is that you can use the Deus WITHOUT a control box and hunt with the headphones ONLY!!! You won't have full control over the machine BUT you can add programs to the headphones by pairing them with a buddy's control box - you can tailor those programs and then upload them to the phones - up to 17 or 18 total programs total, version 3.2 comes with 10 programs already.

Go ahead and make the purchase - it is a little steep for a detector (since I'm stuck in 1995 with paying $798 for a new Fisher CZ-6) in my opinion, but it's worth its weight in gold once you swing it for 4-5 hours and not have any muscle pain!

Thanks so much for the input guys. I think we covered everything. Sounds like you could go diving with it and just hold it with your hand.

The extra coil price dost sound to bad considering. Like you say it's like having another detecter, maybe just tie it to the end of a stick when you get to where your going. LOL:rofl:

Just kidding. Looks like you haven't any trouble finding silver!

And thanks for finding that video I am going to watch it now.

Later guys.
