Cow bank full of silver.

I would think it would have had a jumpy signal with all the different metals and probably thought it was a aluminum can with trash. I worry about passing up a good target that gives a response of a can or some other large object.

That's why we tell you newbies to dig all signals:rofl:

I was digging everything and this is what I came up with today. It's the top I think, but no bottom. It's silver or copper. It hit on the high silver where pieces of copper pipe hit.

Why not? The machine only detected the bank not the coins. As I recall I was using a meterless Tesoro Bandido and back then I usually dug everything that gave a good strong signal just like the paint can full of the silver dollars. I've got a box full of stuff out in my shed that I dug up years ago, horse shoes, pieces of machinery, a solid silver hand mirror, kid's sand shovels - you name it. This was before sissy detecting with ID, depth, imaging, and all that. :).

Looks interesting. Are you going to clean it up. Forgot to post the pic of a roll of silver quarters I recvovered buried under a flattened out beer can. The can was full of probe holes but no one before me had the presence of mind to dig it up and see what was under it. My gain their big loss.

I remember having to dig every signal with the old Bounty Hunter BFO. As I recall the days generally went something like this: junk...junk...junk...junk...junk...junk...junk...penny...junk...junk...junk...junk...junk...junk...junk...penny...replace batteries...junk...junk...junk...junk...junk...silver.....

I'll take the modern discrimination thank you, and the extra depth, battery life, light weight and easy swinging that comes with it. And I'll not let the machine be my brain, I'll use the machine as a PART of the treasure hunt.
